Savannah and Alex’s Wedding
Savannah and Alex found us at the 2016 fall Forever Bridal show. Savannah shared with us what grabbed her about 3SixtyDJ’s: “We loved the energy we saw from Seth as he hosted the main fashion show by dancing to Sexy and I know it by LMFAO as the models came down the runway. His voice was confident and powerful but not overbearing.” Thanks, Savannah!
Savannah was a destination bride, so she passed the reception planning task to her very classy and party loving mother, Denise. Denise and Savannah came up with wonderful questions, like-- “Will Seth be the actual DJ for our wedding? If we want Seth to lead the crowd and direct as MC, can we have a second person DJ the music? What kind of lighting are you able to do? Can we make music requests on the spot?”
Lacey, 3SixtyDJs Office Manager, scheduled two in-studio meetings, the first in which Seth as the MC and Patrick as lead DJ met with Denise and Savannah via FaceTime. Savannah expressed her deep love of Disney and how she wanted everything about her day to scream Disney Princess. We organized instrumental and acapella covers of songs for cocktail and dinner. We talked about room lighting colors and selected the right uplights for Savannah and Alex’s reception. Everyone agreed the event would be phenomenal, especially with a spot light for the entrance and first dance--and 3Sixty was happy to arrange it! Finally, Lacey custom designed 3SixtyDJs monogram projecting light in the form of a Disney castle; the happy couple's last name was in the perfect font inside the castle!
As the magical date drew near, the 3SixtyDJs team made some classy recommendations. Discovering that Savannah had not yet decided on hair and makeup, we walked her straight upstairs to see Gianna with Silverceiling Beauty Consulting. Gianna and Kelly are some of the gems in our fun little building of wedding vendors. With their fun, bubbly personalities and their true love for style and beauty, I couldn't think of anyone that I’d want to work with Savannah more than Gianna, Kelly and their team of beauty consultants.
Savannah and Alex found a marvelous modern wonderland for their fairytale evening! The Virginia Dare Ballroom, smack in the heart of downtown Raleigh. This hidden wonder is like walking straight into the architectural beauty of Grand Central Station. Weddings are held on the second floor in the Sir Walter Raleigh room. The staff is warm and welcoming, with an old-fashioned Bellhop that guides you from the front door to the elevator-- where they operate it for you. The floor to ceiling windows allowed for amazing natural light, and those same window eaves perfectly framed our lighting effects later that night.
One of our favorite things and highest recommendations at 3SixtyDJs is that every bride and groom hire a Planner!!! Stephanie Shaul Events and her team were amazing! Two months before the wedding Stephanie reached out to 3SixtyDJs just to introduce herself and give us a rough layout and timeline of events. Stephanie made sure that we alway had music changes or itinerary updates. She even let us know two days before the wedding that another event was going to be closing the street and what window of time the street would be accessible for us to bring up our gear.
About 3 weeks prior to the magical wedding day, 3SixtyDJs found out the Laura Clay from Southern Harvest Catering was providing the food service for Alex and Savannah’s wedding. Seth and Laura have been good friends since before high school so of course there were all kinds of fun and crazy stories and Southern Harvest. Once we found out that Laura was one of Stephanie's best friends from college we knew we were going to have a fantastic, fun wedding with a perfect team of vendors lined up!
Finally, the wedding day arrives. We arrive early to set pipe and drape, placing the color- matched room lights, then rigging the monogram and spot lights. We receive an update that the ceremony has been completed and guest will be arriving in the next few moments. Show Time!!
Guest arrive to piano and string renditions of Disney princess songs. The room is quickly filled with ladies in evening gowns and gentlemen in tuxedos. People of all ages were united and ready for the time of their life. Seth grabs everyone’s focus with a bit of dialogue from one of Savannah’s favorite movies - “Ma chere, Mademoiselle. It is with deepest pride and greatest pleasure that we welcome you tonight. And now we invite you to relax, let us pull up a chair as the dining room proudly presents - your dinner!”
